Something I love about Photographers,
and no, I’m not referring to the 14-28 year old girls who put a filter on their iPhone and take pictures of fucking everything, I mean people who actually know what they’re doing…
In fact, that’s just what I love about them.
I love seeing a picture of something and saying “I never would have even thought to take that picture. I would look at that and keep walking because it’s not nearly interesting enough for me to look at for longer than a glance.”
No. They see something and go “Look at that…. hold on.”
And set up the right shot.
Take it.
Then, all of a sudden, you have this picture that is actually really COOL.
So what if it was just a chair, a fountain, and someone’s Corgi with an overbite. Someone saw that as more interesting than the tool on the other side of the park juggling maracas, and decided it would be a great picture.
I would have thought differently, but that juggler would not make quite as unique a picture.
I guess it’s a matter of “what can stay permanent and what can only be seen in person.”
